Am Journal I Am Stokely, I Am Stokely...

Wednesday There must be an undiagnosed sleeping disorder that causes disc golfers to come out the second day and shoot like crap. I got it, I think, last weekend too at the Hambrick. Maybe it's the mental thing. You have to keep your cool, especially at Worlds. I was upset at the start of our first round because I had a mosquito bite behind each ear, above an eyebrow, and a few on the legs. But, I didn't let everyone around me know it. There were, however, plenty of times this morning when someone yelled more than the usual number of obscenities, or threw their towel, or kicked their mini. I'd guess it's because we're all thinking of how good we have to shoot to make the cut. That's where I was (near the 25% line), but that's definitely not where I'm at now. Our second round was at Cass Benton, and thankfully the rain stayed away. You should see the sky right now as I'm typing-expecting to hear a head-for-cover siren. One good thing about dropping down a few cards is you might get on a card with three other guys who are out to have the most fun possible. (I was Stokely, and the other guys were Russell, Climo, and Sugar Shack.) That was the most fun I've had playing disc golf in a long time. And it's always fun playing with guys from all across the country at a big tournament. Another reason why Ams should always try to make it to Worlds if it's not too far away. Maybe there's still a chance I can make it to Saturday, even though I shot a couple 13's today. I haven't done the math, yet. Should I check the latest standings first? Or maybe I shouldn't worry about that, and just play smart. That's what Jim's doing, and he's tearing it up. I think we're about equal in overall skill, but he's beating me with a +1 and a +5 today. Awesome. Well, dinner is waiting. So are the new pool assignments which should be arriving at the area sponsors about now. I kind of rushed this report, but I better go before lightning fries my friend's computer.
