The Money Starts To Get Tight
July 20 1999, enroute to Columbus, OH

Bachelor life revealed. Hey! Illinois State Championships... B-Tier in Joliet.

Big Michigan contingent. I ride with Mike Raley, Darren Harper, and Eric Farber. Al rides with Sue. Local Ams Aquaboy Feldberg, Bill Lawyers, Nate Majesky and their buddy Todd ride together.

Big Turnout at Joliet. 60 Am1 players and 30 Pros. Joliet is a tiny deuce-or-die course. They have 28 holes set up for the tournament. We all played two rounds.

Tim Martin wins in a playoff.

Todd and Al score some brownie points.
  • Martin -35
  • Sinclair -35
  • Schack -32
  • Raley -30
  • Rod Fritz -30
  • Branch -29
  • Harper -29
  • Doug Chilcote -29
  • Tim Gill -29
  • Pat Vitale -28

Slim payout for Todd: $86
Al earns about $250
Aquaboy was the only Michigan Am1 who cashed.

I went back to Kalamazoo on Monday to pick up Al and head to the 3rd Annual Brent Hambrick Memorial. The alternator on my Celica decided to bust and my dad came to the rescue again. He located a new part from the local junkyard and had it fixed in about two hours. Once again I don't know what I'd do without his help.

The Tally Sheet: Click to see PDGA stats Money is a little tight right now with 2 weeks of no SuperTour cash coming in. We should do well at the Hambrick, and are headed to Columbus this morning to get the courses dialed in.

Al and I would like to wish good luck to our Am buddies heading out to Am Worlds this weekend. We hope they can produce some good Michigan finishes this year.

We're in for a busy August!

-Todd
