Wow... things are getting super busy for us out here. At my last writing I was at Linda's house in St. Louis. Linda and I spent some quality time together for two days and then headed up to Peoria, Illinois for the Greater Peoria Open. Dave had a good tournament and finished 4th. Avery was 12th and I kept the Shule Monkey with a 13th place performance. We stayed with the Wallis family and they were very cool as always. The tournament went off well. Our former Winnicrewmate Al Schack won.

Joe THE and Chris Hysell at Tyler State Park From there Linda and I drove back to her house and met up with the Winnie a couple days later at Kansas City. Al and I won the tournament doubles at KC by a stroke and got a few bucks. Dave had another great tournament and ended up tied for second after the huge final nine holes. Mike 'Worm' Young won his second SuperTour of the year following in Rivers Sherrods footsteps by winning the KCWO. Avery just missed the finals and finished tied for 5th. I was down at the bottom of the cash line and kept the Monkey for yet another week. Linda was 5th out of a PDGA record 20 Women field. Somehow the KCWO didn't pay the big money we were expecting from an 81 player Open field. Mike only got $1,000 for winning. This has been on the low side for major tournaments.

The Sedgley Woods club purchased a spot on the Winnie for their logo.... Thank you.

I spent one more day with Linda in St. Louis and we were on our way to Pennsylvania, about 1,200 miles away. I'll see you at Worlds sweetie. It was a great two weeks.

Another long drive took us out to Tyler state park in Buck County, PA. A rainy weekend only allowed for one 27 hole round on each day on the newly re-designed course. We had a good time despite the weather and Dave had another good tournament, finishing in 5th in a small field of only 24 Open players. Cam Todd won the tournament and somehow it paid more for first place than the big KCWO the previous weekend. Avery and I tied in a non-cashing spot so once again I keep the Shule Monkey.

After the tournament we hung out across the river in Frenchtown. We had a great time with our new pals -- Peter, Travis, Jeff, Gina, Brittney, and Buck -- who showed us a great time. We went on a tubing expedition down the Delaware river and mostly relaxed for the next few days near Tinnicum park.

Other stuff:

  • Our Maceman doubles stops have been seeing some attendance but nothing major. For some reason I keep winning all our doubles events but I just can't seem to get it all together for the tournaments. So far selling plastic and running doubles has been keeping the Winnie going down the road.
  • The Winnie is running well but will be needing a tune-up sometime soon. The heavy rain revealed an unknown leak in an air vent near the back. It dripped a bunch of water into out TV and VCR. We took them apart and blew a hairdryer into the guts to evaporate the water out and they are working normally. Yeah!
  • Al and Sue have been hanging out in Kansas City for the past two tournaments. They wish they could have been out playing but have some urgent tasks to take care of. We should see them again at the Patapsco Picnic next week.
